Crater Lake

After getting called in to work during vacation, Kem and I both agreed that it was time to get away at least for short trip. We headed up into the mountains and ended up at Crater Lake. This is the picturesque Wizard Island that sits in the middle of lake formed from the collapse of Mount Mazama.
The edge of the caldera (it's not really a crater at all) is quite steep and colorful. It slopes down towards the incredibly clear blue water of the lake.
This little isle is a remnant of an older mountain and has now been named Phantom Ship. In the distance you can see a little ship that is rounding the island. We hope to be riding that ship tomorrow.
