Fourth of July family reunion

We made a brief trip back to the east coast to visit our families in DC, northern NJ, and eastern PA. As beautiful as Oregon is, we both were very happy to visit our respective families. We made it home and celebrated Michael's 35th birthday and the Fourth of July.

At my family's place in New Hope we made one of my favorite all time dishes. My grandfather had started a tradition of making char siu pork many years ago in his beehive stone oven. We continue the tradition and feasted on the succulent meat.
