National Bison Refuge

We visited the National Bison Refuge near the Blackfeet reservation. Initially I didn't think we'd get closer to them than this elk watching us from the ridge (shot through a 450 mm equiv. lens)









We decided to move on to a different part of the park and Kem spotted some bison in the distance grazing on a hillside










We later found a small number gathering where there was an abundant supply of good eats (a pile of hay apparently is pretty enticing to a 1500 lb beast). They were magnificent creatures.
