Lake Louise

These views are from a hike we took above Lake Louise in Banff Nat'l Park. We were treated to some of the most spectacular mountain vistas on our hike up.









Lake Louise is the most famous glacial lake from the park because of its turquoise colored water from the glacial "flour" which absorbs light differently than normal water. The lake was still frozen solid while we were there giving it an unfamiliar but still dramatic look.







This was the view we were rewarded to at the top of our hike. It was called Mirror Lake with the Continental divide along the ridge in the distance. Our snack of sausage and cheese was well earned!








We lugged a tripod to catch a shot as well.












On our drive back we took a break along the Kicking Horse river. Here is a natural bridge where the rushing water carves through some layered rock.
