Portage and Whittier

Iceburg!! This large chunk of ice floats in the fresh water Portage Lake on the way towards Prince William Sound.










A picturesque fishing vessel leaves port from Whittier going into the Sound once spoiled by the Exxon Valdez.










Here I sat victorious on an outlook after scrambling up a rock slope with my camera equipment. The view was well worth the effort as the mountains fell off straight into Cook's inlet.
